Public Sector Enterprises are also being evaluated as
commercial entities expected to maximize returns on
investment. Management of these PSEs are expected to take
business decisions in a dynamic scenario with all the
attendant risks and competition with Private/MNCs .
However the rules
and regulation of the government as well as the guidelines
issued by the vigilance commission from time to time cannot
be ignored in the name of competition and for earning profit
for the company.
An examination of
very large number of vigilance cases in NPCC reveals the
fact that officers are not aware of rules and guidelines issued by
the government and the CVC on various issues and
irregularities are committed due to lack of knowledge about
them.
To protect the
officials of the corporation from such situation , a booklet
on Dos and Don'ts has been prepared by NPCC Vigilance in
2007. To view the booklet
