Dear Colleagues, I take this opportunity of greeting you all on taking over as Chairman & Managing Director of the Corporation. I consider myself privileged for being given an opportunity to lead this old & prestigious Organization Friends! As you all know, this Corporation was one of earliest creation of the Government of India after independence for executing important national development projects and had been extremely successful in this endeavour because of dedication, commitment and hard work of its staff and officers |

and officers over the years. I understand that in the last decade or so, the performance of the Corporation has not been up to the mark, which has resulted in severely eroding its financial worth. It shall be my endeavour to not only revive/turnaround the Corporation by improving the performance to the required standards but also to enhance this to global standards with our combined wisdom, abilities & efforts |

Gone are the days when PSU’s performance was primarily judged by the project deliveries and achievements in fulfillment of social & economic objective giving very little importance to costs/profits. Now with the acceptance of globalization philosophy and fast pace of reforms in Indian economy, no organization has been left with any option but to recognize, accept and adapt to these changes and re-orient its business processes in a manner best suited to the competitive environment. The survival and growth of our Corporation in this competitive environment is of vital importance and we cannot afford to relax, but to keep re-inventing and readjusting our selves for achieving the desired goals. To achieve this, we must seriously & calmly work instead of dissipating our energy in unnecessary fretting and fuming about the problems facing the Corporation. In NPCC, the most vital resource is our human resource, and we have to be pro active in upgrading its knowledge and skills as well as its proper utilization, and also improving its other resources & processes. This would also require that each one of us make special efforts towards achieving the corporation’s objective of not only cutting down the losses but also reversing the trend and achieving profitability in the years to come. I am sure all of us together would be able to make a difference and achieve this in a very short span of time. |
